Forex Jargon Dictionary

Hello, friends! Beginner traders in Forex face a huge amount of information. And if ordinary technical concepts are explained in training video courses, things are harder with the slang words found on forums. For example, many freeze up when they see the comment "Salted the aussie!" ) So, I decided to compile a dictionary of Forex trading slang in order to explain the meaning of jargon words and expressions related to Forex.

- Aussie ( kangaroo ) - the AUDUSD currency pair
- Austral - see aussie
- ATS - automated trading system, robot
B
- Bulls - buyers, traders opening buy positions (Buy)
- Buy (Buy) - to buy currency
- B/E , Breakeven - moving a position's stop-loss to the opening price level
- Sideways market - flat, absence of directional movement

- Weekly - charts with the W1 timeframe, weekly
- Entry - opening a position, the place on the chart where the order was opened
G

- Daily - see daily charts
- Demo , demo account - a demonstration account with virtual money
- Depo - the deposit in a trading account
- Long position - buys
- Daily charts - daily charts. D1 timeframe
- Pyramiding - opening an additional order / orders in the direction of an existing position
- Day trading - trading within the day. On timeframes from M1 to H4.
- Diver - a divergence signal on the chart
- Uncle Kolya - see Kolyan

- Eva , euro , eurobuck - the EURUSD currency pair
- Jewess - the EURJPY currency pair
- ECB - the European Central Bank
- Hedgehog - the EURJPY currency pair

- Lock - two identical positions in different directions on one instrument
- To salt - to enter sells

- Indyuk - an indicator in technical analysis
- Intraday - see day trading

- Cable - the GBPUSD currency pair
- Cad, Canadian - the USDCAD currency pair

- Pending order , pending - a pending order

- PA - the Price Action method
- Pip - 1 point of price movement
- Pipsing - trading with a very small take-profit (up to 10 points)
- Pindosy - Americans
- Saw - sideways, zigzag movement
- Drawdown - a loss on the account / position
- Profit - profit
- Pose - a trading position
- To catch a moose - to take a loss on a trade
- Ceiling - the overbought level
- Floor - the oversold level

- Rally - a strong trend
- Real - a real account, with real money
- Redhead - gold (XAUUSD)

- North , movement north - the upper area of the price chart, a bullish trend
- Scalping - trading with small targets (usually no more than 20 points)
- Sell (Sell) - to sell currency, a sell trade
- To sit on the fence - not to enter trades, to watch the market

- To blow an account , blowout - to lose
- Owl - an expert advisor, a trading robot

- Statement - a report from a trading account

- South , movement south - the lower area of the price chart, a bearish trend
