MQL5 Market - Is There Anything Worth Snatching?

Previously, buying applications for Metatrader resembled roulette more. These were either one-man sites with a few statements and the promise of a grail, where the money was transferred to some "uncle" directly into the account, together with a guarantee of non-refund. Or large electronic platforms were used, like the same Plati. With the arrival of the Market, the process of buying trading experts became more civilized and transparent. All products in the store undergo preliminary moderation, so your money certainly will not go nowhere. Nevertheless, in order not to overpay extra, one should take into account some features of the newfangled Store, which will be discussed below.

Well, let us also see: is it possible to find anything worthwhile in MQL5 Market ?

You can get into the Market in two ways. You can go directly to the Market page through a browser. To do this, go to MQL5.com, then to the "Market" section.

Find the indicator or expert we are interested in and go to the product page.

Click "Download trial". A confirmation window should appear. Indicate "Yes, I already have MetaTrader 4".

The browser may also ask permission to launch a remote program.

After that, the terminal starts automatically, if it is not yet open, and in the navigator, in the "Market" folder, the expert you just downloaded will appear.

The same can be done by opening the Market in the terminal window, through the "Market" tab. Click "Download demo" and wait until the program is installed.

Trial versions of indicators and experts can only be tested in the tester and cannot be installed on the chart. Therefore, immediately go to the tester of strategies. Of course, if at the testing stage any expert drains, there is no point in buying it.

You need to pay attention only to products that, even after stress testing on different brokers and currency pairs, continue to show profit. It is worth considering that authors often leave files of prepared settings (advisor presets) or give recommendations on the period and testing methods, knowingly aware that the expert will "drain" outside its limits.

So, you chose and tested a product that in the end satisfied your requirements in all respects. Then, it is time to move on to payment.

For this, go to the product page on the store website or on the Market tab in the terminal. Here it is immediately worth paying attention to the number of free activations of the product. The product is tied to the device (to the hardware). That is, if an expert has 5 activations, you will be able to install it on no more than 5 different computers. This can be a home computer, one at work and, say, a laptop. At the same time, if you decide to buy a new PC, for this, again, you will have to spend one more activation.

So, click the "Buy" button and go directly to the payment page. Here choose the payment system, after which you will be redirected to the payment page. After the payment is confirmed, the product will instantly appear in the terminal.

The Market is really an excellent place to purchase a complex trading panel, some rare indicator or a decent trading expert. Naturally, at the stage of opening the Store the shelves were empty, so many authors are trying to fill the formed niche by reselling already written indicators and advisors that had previously been freely available.

The point here is not only the non-zero cost of the product. In fact, it is not so regrettable to pay the author a symbolic cost for some useful development, but, as we have already found out, the Market has a built-in protection mechanism against copying, and this introduces a number of inconvenient moments. The presence of source codes gives much more freedom. First, you are not limited by a certain number of activations and can share the program with others. Second, if the author suddenly stops updating the product, you may simply be left with a non-working program. First of all, you need to try to find the program in free access, and only then go to the Market.

In fact, there are very few truly useful products in the Market. Therefore, always try to think your decision through properly before buying. Moreover, not all of them are well versed in the topic, which means you can sell them even not the highest-quality software, which, for example, in the Runet, definitely no one would buy.
