Moose Hunt Contest - 2023 Season

2023 has arrived, the holidays are behind us, and it is time to return to active trading. A new round of our famous "Moose Hunt" contest, held together with TickMill, will help refresh your skills in finding and holding trades with a "cool head."

The essence of the contest is simple: lose as many virtual points as possible on a demo account. Oddly enough, this simple exercise helps you better understand the market and train the psychological skills of trading. This time we slightly eased the contest conditions to make it more comfortable for participants.

What is the essence of the contest?

The forex portal Tlap.io together with TickMIll is holding the "Moose Hunt 16" contest. The essence of the contest is very simple: you open a demo account, and your task is to lose as much virtual money as possible within two weeks. The luckiest "moose hunters" will receive cash prizes and pleasant gifts.

And what are the prizes?

There will be 20 prize places. The winners will be determined by the site's administration and the broker's automated system.

As always in our contests, the prizes are cash. They will be credited to your trading account, and you will be able to withdraw them at any time. No tricky schemes like "money only for trading, you cannot withdraw it," everything is fair.

You do not need to lose the entire account completely, but the smaller the deposit, the higher the prize place. Important note: swaps are not taken into account when calculating the final results, so there is no point in waiting in hopes of a negative swap. So, the prizes are:

1st place - $500
2nd place - $300
3rd place - $250
4th place - $200
5th place - $150
from 6th to 10th place - $50
from 11th to 20th place - $40

Also, the winner who takes 1st place will receive a reduced copy of the legendary Wall Street Bull! The bull brings luck and profit in trading.

Contest dates

To participate in the contest, you need to register a contest account by January 22 inclusive (see the conditions below). The contest itself will take place from January 23 to February 3, 2023. That is, you will have 2 weeks to trade on the contest account. The contest results will be announced by February 12 at the latest (most likely earlier). The winners will be determined by the site's administration together with TickMill.

Contest rules - read carefully!

To participate in the "Moose Hunt 16" contest, you need to:

The demo account balance must be $10000. The platform is MT4, the account type is Pro, the currency is USD. The leverage is any.

3. During the period from January 23 to February 3, 2023, make losing trades on your account while observing the restrictions (see below).

Restrictions:

Only 1 account per person is accepted into the contest.
It is forbidden to open positions on the contest account before January 23.
You may trade only the pairs: EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, USDJPY
The size of each order is 0.1 lot.
It is forbidden to hold more than 1 trade on 1 currency pair at the same time (but different pairs are allowed).
Each trade must be closed at a loss of at least 30 old points. For example, if you bought EURUSD at 1.0950, you need to close the trade at a loss at 1.0920, or better lower, so that slippage and the like do not interfere. I advise setting stops at 35 points or more. Profit (take profit) may be any. Example for USDJPY: You sold at 117.40, which means you need to close the trade at 117.70 (or higher). Do not forget about the spread.
By the end of the second trading week (February 3), all trades on the contest account must be closed. Open positions also include pending orders that have not been deleted.
A participant who makes fewer than 10 trades on their account during the contest period, or violates any other of the listed restrictions, is disqualified.
One hour before the market closes on Friday, February 3 (that is, from 23:00 to 00:00 according to the time IN THE TERMINAL, the "Market Watch" window), it is allowed to close trades opened earlier with a loss of less than 30 old points, but you should not count on this or abuse it. Opening new trades on the last day after 23:00 is forbidden.
The contest ends on February 3 at 00:00 terminal time.
Positive and negative swaps are not taken into account in the final result.

Contest participant FAQ

I accidentally opened the wrong lot size / the wrong pair / earlier than allowed, etc.!!! Am I excluded???

Yes, you are excluded. Rules are rules. Be more careful.

And what leverage should I choose?

Any, the lot is fixed anyway.

How do I know whether I am participating in the contest? Will I receive a confirmation?

No, no confirmation will be sent. A few days after the start of the contest, a list of participants is published in the forum topic (link at the end of the post) in the form of a table attached to the topic. To see the attachments, you need forum registration. If you do not find yourself in the list, write in the forum thread.
