Why We No Longer Review Commercial Strategies

Commercial forex strategies

Good day, ladies and gentlemen, forex traders.

You have surely noticed that over the past several years there have been no reviews of paid commercial strategies on the pages of our site. Why? After all, requests to tell whether strategy X or Y is any good come in every day.  Let's start from the beginning...

How a Typical Trading System Is Sold

Selling forex strategies

A standard strategy sales page promises us mountains of profit and a 146% chance of gains.

The sales page may be in English, in Russian, in Chinese, the essence does not change. Also, there are always testimonials from satisfied traders, filmed on a cell phone:

Reviews from suckers

The strategy itself must look easy to understand. The ideal option is arrows showing when to buy and when to sell:

To "improve" the results, the arrows are often placed a couple of candles before the signal. Just so it looks more respectable))

Another option that sells quite well is "mysterious" systems. Gann, Volume trading, planetary movements, and the like do well. The more nonsensical the system, the better. People think there is some kind of magic secret there and they buy.

Bill Mclaren Time Factor

Support actively answers you exactly until the moment you pay for the course/strategy. After that, silence.

And why should they waste effort? They have already gotten everything they wanted from you (money). To the question of "why the strategy does not work very well," they will answer that supposedly you are "trading it wrong."

No One Sees the Final Product

So, we are getting to the point.

Why do people talk about commercial systems? Because they are advertised.

Why can they sell any junk? Because no one will know about it anyway until they buy the product )

So it turns out sellers have no real reason to bother with whether the method is profitable. Why would they? Until a person buys it, they will not know. And once they have already bought it, what difference does it make to the seller? He has received his money.

That is why it turns out that 99.99% of what is sold for money is utter trash.

Sellers make pretty screenshots, ask friends/freelancers to write "reviews," and wait for naive suckers.

What Is the Goal of Non-Commercial Strategies?

It would seem, why share a profitable strategy? The question is not simple; we even have a long forum thread devoted to it.

In short, to confirm your own ideas, as well as to get new ones. The collective mind is capable of a lot.

But the main thing is this: traders on forums have the goal of MAKING MONEY with the help of a trading system in the market, not getting money from naive buyers. And those are very different things. There is no need to draw pretty screenshots with arrows, pay freelancers for "reviews," write ad copy promising millions, or invent some legends about a mysterious strategy passed on to you by a dying billionaire or the spirit of Gann at a seance.

That is exactly why success is hidden in what is freely available and actively discussed. Quite simply, you need to think about motives. If there is no goal of scamming suckers out of money, then there is probably something to it.

For Free, They Give You Nothing Good, or A Sucker Is Not a Mammoth

A sucker is not a mammoth

So, over the years I came to the conclusion that the most sensible ideas are available for free. If you still have the idea in your head that "free means only trash," you are mistaken. At least in trading, that is not the case. All the secrets lie in the most visible place.

And naive buyers of "magic" systems will still remain. During the crisis I expected many infobusiness sellers to go bankrupt, and that did happen, but many vendors are still in the game anyway. And they are always ready to sell you a brand-new system with 100500% profit per day ;)
